ABOUT ALEX VAZQUEZ-CORTES
Hello! I graduated from Portland State University with my B.S. in Public Health Studies: Pre-Clinical Health Science and on the Pre-Medicine track. I am an NIH BUILD EXITO alum. While in BUILD, I was placed in the Donald D. Trunkey Center for Civilian and Combat Casualty Care at the Oregon Health & Science University. The research project that I worked with centered around using interventional digital technology during the pediatric perioperative period to see if it impacts anxiety levels in children undergoing surgery. Currently, I am working on obtaining my respiratory therapy license at Mt. Hood Community College. I plan on working with patients at the bedside as a respiratory therapist while working with research for a few years before applying to medical school. I am particularly interested in becoming a physician in emergency medicine or palliative care.Feel free to connect with me, always happy to meet new folks!
