About Alex Tripsas
Currently I am an R&D Optical Engineer for Onto Innovations working on developing next gen products on wafer inspection. I graduated with my masters at Leiden University for Astronomy and Instrumentation where I worked on a theoretical optical design for a Single Laser Adaptive Optics (SLAO) system, specifically the wavefront sensor, for METIS which is going on the ELT. I also worked on simulating focal plane wavefront sensing for alignment of the Giant Magellan Telescopes mirror segments. I got my Bachelors from UC Santa Cruz in Physics with an emphasis on Astrophysics. During my stay at UCSC I worked on the Keck 1 Deployable Tertiary Mirror (K1DM3). Upon graduation UCO/Lick hired me as a specialist to continue working on K1DM3. My focus has been on design and manufacturing of scientific instruments. Ideally I\'d like to work on optical design and lens design.
