About Alex Shannon
Alex is WSP’s water business line lead for its 31- state West Region. In this role he oversees a team of 200 professionals engineers, a $50M revenue budget, and $60M in sales. In this role, he is responsible for driving growth, profitability, overseeing project delivery and delivering innovative client solutions, supporting team members, and managing operations in the water practice. His technical background is in water economics, finance, and capital planning. He provides leadership in economic modeling, risk analysis, decision science, and funding strategies. Alex has delivered 100% growth in new sales in his first 36 months with WSP, and nearly 40% revenue growth Y/Y. In the last two years, EBITDA growth has outpaced top line growth. Alex regularly serves as principal in charge on WSP\'s largest water projects. He has experience in collaborative delivery, including GC/CM, design build, and progressive design build. His primary technical background has been working on the delivery of large wastewater treatment projects. He has worked across the Country for major cities, counties, and airports to implement this infrastructure to improve water quality. Creator of EconH2O model for capital improvement planning optimization and real-time funding analysis. Co/chair of WSP’s Innovation Network.
