About Alex Rouse

As a GIS Project Coordinator for Stewart’s Geospatial group, my core purpose is to make people’s lives easier and more efficient. I specialize in asset management, subsurface utility network digitizing, risk assessment, database creation and management. My passion is GIS solutions, AKA how can we make this process better? Should we incorporate a GIS mobile app? Should we automate QC by integrating a data reviewer extension? Continuous improvement is the name of the game. I have my FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certificate. I am currently working towards obtaining my GISP certification. I am proficient in both ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap, as well as ArcGIS Online and numerous Esri GIS mobile apps including Field Maps, Survey123, and QuickCapture. I graduated from NC State (go pack!) in 2019 and obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Geology. It is there that I was first introduced to GIS software and began my passion for cartography. I also gained an abundance of field experience during college, including work on numerous projects in New Mexico and across North Carolina. I was on the geophysical survey research team for the Hidden Town Project in Winston Salem, NC. The goal was to use ground penetrating radar to search for historic house foundations for archaeologists to unearth, study, and understand how the Moravian people once lived.
