ABOUT ALEX ROBINSON

I began my career as an electrical apprentice and have accumulated over 20 years of experience in the electrical industry. Throughout my career, I\'ve had the privilege of working on and managing a range of residential, commercial, and industrial projects across both public and private sectors. My passion for the industry led me to education, where I played a key role in shaping the next generation of electricians. I served as a lecturer at Coleg Cambria, one of the largest colleges in the UK, and eventually became the Curriculum Lead for Building Services. During this time, I also provided subject matter expertise to qualification regulators and awarding organisations to ensure industry standards were consistently met and upheld. In 2021, I joined NICEIC, the UK’s leading electrical certification body, as a Technical Training Developer. NICEIC certifies over electrical businesses, ensuring their installation work meets stringent technical and safety standards. I later progressed to the role of Learning Experience Manager, where I focused on refining training programs and enhancing professional development initiatives.Beyond my work in training and development, I have contributed to the industry by serving as a judge for SkillELECTRIC, the premier skills competition for the UK’s electrical industry aligned with WorldSkills UK. I also took on the role of Lead Technical Advisor for Building Services Engineering at EAL Awards, a leading awarding organisation for vocational qualifications.Currently, as Head of Product Development at Certsure/NICEIC, I am responsible for strengthening our portfolio of education and training products. I oversee the end-to-end development and optimisation of products, working closely with the training delivery team to bring them to market and achieve organizational goals. My role involves identifying market opportunities, scaling propositions across product categories, and ensuring our offerings align with industry needs and customer expectations.
