About Alex Peltzman

It all started when my father wanted to name me “Cougar.” Apparently—somewhere in the Peltzman bloodline—there lived an Elk, a Wolf, and a Sycamore Peltzman, and much to my mother’s dismay, my father intended on using my birth as chance to pay homage to my ancestors. When my father’s lobbying for Cougar was met by my mother’s prompt, “over my dead body,” my father countered with Bing. My mother offered up David, and before anybody knew it, my parents had found themselves stuck in a stalemate. When all hope seemed lost, my parents turned on the television as Robert Rossen’s \"Alexander the Great\" was coming on. The rest, as they say, is history.But I could have been Cougar.
