ABOUT ALEX NAGIN
I am an early-career journalist with 2+ years of experience covering all things Columbia as a staff writer, deputy editor, and editor-in-chief of the Columbia Sundial, Columbia University’s monthly magazine of news and commentary. I’ve covered protests that captured the national spotlight, reported on students who voted for Trump in the 2024 election, and wrote an investigative profile of the Ivy League’s elite conservative thought conference, among other clips. I am an experienced newsroom leader who, for over a year, directed 50+ writers, editors, business associates, photographers, illustrators, and social media staff. As of April, I am editor emeritus of Sundial, focusing on helping the new managing board learn how to manage the publication’s editorial and fundraising operations. I am also an incoming journalism intern at BenitoLink, San Benito County’s News. I will be focused on education and legal affairs reporting. I received this internship through the Scripps Howard Fund.
