ABOUT ALEX MILLER

Alex Miller, senior communications strategist at Parson + Associates (P+A), has a proven track record of providing exceptional public engagement services for multiple, large-to-small-scale projects throughout the Kansas City, Missouri region. Highlights of his work include the following:Upgrades on Main with KC Water To lay the groundwork (or more accurately, underground work) for KC Water to improve the aging water and sewer infrastructure along Main Street, Miller is a relentless communications manager who can visualize the big picture as Upgrades on Main paves the way for the first phase of construction-related activity for the KC Streetcar Main Street Extension to the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). He coordinates efforts between up to 15 private utility companies, contractors, adjacent businesses, key stakeholders, and several departments within the City of Kansas City, Missouri. Due to the heavily-trafficked corridor and high-profile of the project, he ensures project messages are communicated to multiple audiences through various communications channels to ensure the right message is received by the right people at the right time. From social media to media relations to in-person interactions, his experience shines through the way he skillfully navigates relationships, always putting people first. His involvement in numerous professional organizations gives him an advantage on projects to be able to keep goals at top of mind, while also managing day-to-day communications with a range of diverse stakeholders.KC Streetcar Main Street ExtensionFor over seven years, Miller has been intimately involved in infrastructure projects throughout all stages from study to completion and has a proven understanding of transportation projects. He started by tackling outreach strategies and tactics (i.e. social media and staffing pop-up events) on the KC Streetcar Starterline and has now worked his way up to being the communications lead for the P+A team guiding the vision and goals. Miller is passionate about developing strategic and creative opportunities to continue to engage with stakeholders and impact their level of knowledge about project progress.
