Alex has consistently been tapped to leverage his discerning leadership in new strategic roles to create value for companies like Bechtel Corporation, Oracle, and Cemex.A multicultural executive leader, Alex’s scope of accountability has spanned the management of teams ranging from <20 to +900 employees, P & Ls from <$150M to multibillion-dollar revenue, and diverse industries. He has also navigated teams through dynamic change in the shape of M&A transactions, market fluctuations, new regulatory requirements, market entry, leadership transitions, shift to a work-from-home model (COVID), restructuring, and technology modernization.Alex served as the CFO, Ethics & Compliance Officer, and Principal Vice President for the Mining & Metals division of Bechtel Corporation—one of the largest U.S. construction companies from 2017 until 2022. Promoted into this role in 2017, he was a member of the leadership team that migrated the division headquarters from Australia to Chile. He also drove a multimillion-dollar reduction in overhead spend by operationalizing the region’s COVID-19 response.From 2013 to 2017, Alex held the position of General Manager for Bechtel’s Business Services (BBS) shared services organization. During this time, he was also named among the company’s select group of Principal Vice Presidents, serving in a top financial leadership position under the Global Corporate CFO. Among his achievements in this role is the operational and financial transformation of the organization which serves the North American, LATAM, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific markets.Alex joined Bechtel in 2006 as the Head of International Tax, supporting some of the world’s largest mining and metals, oil / gas / chemicals, civil engineering, power, and government projects across 40 countries.As the Vice President of International Tax for Oracle Corporation, Alex drove the international tax strategy and function across a 70-country footprint. Earlier, he advanced through roles of increasing responsibility at Cemex, S.A.B. de C.V—a multibillion-dollar, Mexico-based global building materials company.
