The city of New Albany is a community of residents located 15 minutes northeast of downtown Columbus, Ohio. Over 80% of the community’s general fund is generated by a acre business park which has attracted $47 billion in investment, yielding 36 million square feet of development and jobs. Notable investments include Intel’s $28 billion Ohio One fab, Google, Meta, Microsoft, AWS, Amgen, Abercrombie & Fitch, Bath & Body Works, Hims/Hers, Pharmavite, and more. This economic development is driven by the ‘one stop shop’ Community Development Department, which includes planning, zoning, economic development, engineering, and building under one roof. As one of three in the economic development division, I:• Assist with the creation and management of CRA and TIF agreements as assigned.• Collaborate with the finance department to complete the annual CRA reporting process for active tax abatements, assemble the Tax Incentive Review Council (TIRC) report, present the city’s findings to the TIRC (composed of the county auditor, superintendents, township trustees, and council designees), and present the TIRC’s recommendations to city council.• Represent New Albany to the German American Semiconductor Cities Network, a partnership between Chandler AZ, New Albany/Columbus OH, and Magdeburg, Germany, involving monthly roundtables and trips to each community to collaborate on municipal best practices around semiconductor development.• Support the Community Improvement Corporation by scheduling meetings, preparing agenda materials, and recording and publishing meeting minutes. • Maintain New Albany’s ~40 industrial listings in ZoomProspector and respond to RFIs in a timely manner, supporting site visits and coordinating with other development partners as necessary.
