About Alex Kim

While studying abroad, I was walking through Osaka in a Tottenham Hotspur jersey when a Japanese student around my age started talking to me. What began as a quick conversation about soccer turned into a longer one about culture, education, and language, spoken through my basic Japanese and his basic English. Even with the limitations, we understood each other more than either of us expected.That experience stuck with me. It shaped how I approach learning and problem-solving: you don’t need perfect information to make progress, just curiosity, structure, and a willingness to engage across gaps rather than avoid them.I’m Alex, a second-year student at Dartmouth College studying Economics and ASCL. I’m interested in behavioral science, especially habit formation, and in understanding how people think and make decisions. I’m also drawn to global markets, where analytical thinking meets different cultures, markets, and perspectives.Through my coursework and projects, I’ve been building a foundation in financial modeling and valuation, with hands-on experience in Excel and presentation-driven analysis.Always happy to learn from and connect with others.
