ABOUT ALEX HULSE
I am an experienced, tenacious and versatile journalist, working in broadcast media since 2009. Radio and social media go hand-in-hand as the ultimate mediums for immediacy and I strive to bring listeners the very latest through bulletins and via social media content on location and source experts and case studies to talk on relevant subjects.My bulletins are tailored for audience through radio brand guidance and I use online multimedia platforms to complement my work. I often use Facebook and X to find relevant contacts or push out relevant content, as well as using online audio players like Audioboom and Soundcloud to package up news reports, interviews and on-scene reporting and reaction to be accessed. Most recently in my career, I’ve held a number of senior positions as Senior Broadcast Journalist and Deputy Regional News Editor. These have given me skills in forward planning and team management. I have also been instrumental in coaching interns and fresh journalism students in the newsroom and also within the academic space. Since 2023, I’ve been freelancing in radio newsrooms. I’m currently taking up a six month contract with Global. I am open to new opportunities from early 2025.
