ABOUT ALEX GREAVES
He uri o Ngāi Tahu ahau.Was previously practicing criminal law as an Employed Barrister at Walker Street Chambers in Christchurch. Previous work experience includes Court Registry, Probation Officer, Public Defence Service and Solicitor roles.Member of Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa (The Māori Law Society).Completed LLB at the University of Auckland in 2017. I then graduated with an LLM (Specialising in Criminal Law) at AUT in July 2021I was the faculty representative for UoA Law School at the National Maori Issues Moot 2017.I shadowed a prosecutor at the Office of the Manukau Crown Solicitor (Kayes Fletcher Walker) during 2016 and early 2017.I enjoy appearing in Court, with particular interests in criminal law and appellate advocacy. Ultimately I aim to become a Youth Advocate and practise in the youth justice jurisdiction.I have also been a member of the New Zealand Cadet Forces since August 2009. With this I work with youth in a military flavoured organisation. Through my time in cadets I have also gained other certificates such as a National Certificate in Adult Education and Training (Level 4).
