About Alex Buettgen
I am a senior at USC pursuing dual degrees in Real Estate Development and Communication. I have developed a strong foundation in advanced financial modeling, market analysis, and investment strategies through hands-on internships and coursework. I hold advanced training in Excel and Argus Enterprise software, as well as significant experience with Salesforce and CoStar.As an Industrial Research Intern at Lee & Associates-Houston last summer, I developed complex Excel models to identify profitable sub-market holdings, directly supporting investment strategies that influenced key business decisions. I also earned certification in Commercial Real Estate Fundamentals from Project Destined, which has deepened my knowledge of market analysis, property valuation, and deal structuring.My experience as an on-air broadcast commentator for the Big Ten Network has strengthened my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively—skills I apply when presenting real estate data or strategies in professional settings.Outside of my studies, I’m passionate about watching collegiate sports, reading historical nonfiction, and participating in a fantasy football league—interests that keep me motivated and constantly learning.
