   Internal Fleet Management -Make recommendations for over the road equipment to expand or enhance the fleet including the financial evaluation of purchase or lease -Collaborate with plants to maintain a proper inventory and maintenance of the fleet-In charge of all legal compliance for the fleet of vehicles and the driver’s requirements -Understanding and knowledge of domestic and international freight including legal requirements and paperwork needed for shipping (NAFTA & Bonds) Freight -Reporting, metrics and dashboard management -Monitor current market and future projections providing monthly updates of the freight world -Maintain and manage a central approved carrier and broker list for company use -Including proper insurance on file -Provide a company scorecard based on vendor/broker service level performance targets and adjust approved carrier list as needed -Initiate and review long-term contracted/dedicated lanes optimizing freight spend by negotiating rates and awarding final selections-Help plot routes for freight optimization -Research ideal logistics techniques and strategies to provide the lowest cost delivery of materials and finished goods as well as predictability of cost in an ever-changing market-Manage and resolve freight complaints and loss claims
