About Alex Britto
I am a footwear and apparel designer with a BFA in Fashion Design. I also complete a minor in Craft and Material Studies with a focus in jewelry and furniture design. I\'ve designed footwear for William & Harry, a golf brand in Williamsburg, VA. Together, we’ve developed a luxury golf sneaker designed to be worn both on and off the course. This experience has involved meetings with the owner and lead buyer to develop the style and work through color and material choices. I created the tech pack for production and corresponded with the factory to revise the samples. The shoe is currently in production and is for sale in store and online. I’ve been awarded 3 scholarships from the Fashion Scholarship Fund from 20••••23. These projects demand intense market research, which is woven into the design evolution process. Competing for this scholarship has kept me up to date on shifts in trend and consumer mindsets. Each year I’ve designed in response to these factors which include sustainability, circular consumption, material selection, retail partnerships and omnichannel marketing. My senior thesis collection \"Tactile Knowledge\" is featured on the CFDA\'s Runway360 platform as a part of the 2023 Fashion Futures Graduates Showcase (FFGS)
