ABOUT ALEX BANFIELD
I am the District Controller for Waste Connections of Canada (NYSE/TSX: WCN) for the Canadian Region and oversee the Accounting/Finance functions and development across six provinces. Our fleet contains roll off, commercial front end, commercial side load and residential side load trucks. My role is to protect the integrity of the financial statements, as well as to help develop the next future leaders of our company, and ultimately grow the business.Born and raised in the UK - I moved to Canada when I was 18 years old and attended the University of British Columbia before graduating with a Bachelor of Management degree. My studies continued into the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) program, which I completed within two years.Outside of work I can be found enjoying all that the Okanagan has to offer with my friends and family.
