About Alethea Podmore

Inspired by the power of solutions and creating lasting value for customers, I celebrate 20 years as both a designer and personal stylist. My career is rooted in centering the customer, ensuring that both product and service not only meet their needs but enrich their lives. As a designer, my guest is always my muse. My designs are shaped by the belief that they must live, function, and ultimately advance the life of the wearer. This philosophy led me to play a pivotal role at Tommy Bahama, where I established the year-round Women’s sweater business, eliminating seasonal stalls and driving the brand’s growth. Through strategic design and cross-functional collaboration, I contributed to expanding the brand’s retail and wholesale reach, delivering collections that resonated with both new and loyal customers. My understanding of consumer behavior as a designer informs how I tailor my styling recommendations. Likewise, my work with individual clients as a stylist gives me a deeper understanding of what people truly want from their clothing. I bring my fashion expertise to C-suite clientele, using a 1:1 approach to ensure that each wardrobe decision aligns with the wide variety of their personal and professional goals. My clients, clear in their priorities, hire me not to define them but to amplify their individuality. By pursuing tandem career paths, I blend creativity, service, and consumer insight in ways that provide unique value to both employers and clients. This allows me to make the most of my talents in a diverse and rewarding way. This work isn’t about over-consumption or fleeting trends. It’s about creating sustainable, meaningful wardrobes that bring joy, function, and beauty—ensuring every item serves a purpose. My design philosophy is rooted in humility; my name may not be on the label, but my heart is in service. I design with purpose, seeking to elevate and enhance the lives of others. Key Fashion Industry Competencies • Ability to identify and capitalize on white space opportunities • Trend interpretation that brings vitality to the consumer experience • Executive-level presentation and communication • Deep understanding of consumer behavior and marketplace trends • Designing and curating collections that resonate with target audiences, ensuring that designs not only align with brand vision but also meet business objectives. • Skilled in both conceptual and tactical thinking, with a focus on results • Strong communication and presentation skills at the executive level • Mentorship for emerging and mid-career designers
