ABOUT ALESSIO LIGUORI

Alessio Liguori graduated in DAMS (Art, Music & Entertainment) as a program director for film and TV and directed numerous commercials, short films and music videos before finding his way to film production. His first feature film was IN THE TRAP (2019), a psychological horror film with a cast of international actors including David Bailie (\"Pirates of the Caribbean\"), which was sold by True Colours in more than 40 countries worldwide, enjoying great success with audiences both in theatrical releases and on platforms and TV. The director\'s second international film, SHORTCUT (2020) invokes the spirit of the 1980s by blending past cults like \"The Goonies\" with modern hits like \"Stranger Things,\" and again boasts an international cast of young talent including Jake Kane (\"Dragonheart: Vengeance\"). The film was released in more than 800 theaters in the United States remaining in the U.S. top 10 for more than a month, and subsequent international sales (by Minerva Pictures) confirm the film\'s success on every continent eventually being acquired by MGM, SKY Italia, and Eagle Pictures for Home Video release. The director then ventured into his first fully Italian production by directing THE BOAT (2021), a thriller produced by Marco Belardi for Lotus Production and Rai Cinema, starring Caterina Shulha, Filippo Nigro, Marco Bocci, Alessandro Tiberi, Diane Fleri, Marina Rocco and Edoardo Valdarnini. The film was recently sold at the AFM to multiple international distributors for France, Germany, Austria, Russia, Latin America, South Korea and other countries. The Boat will soon be distributed in Italy as well. This was followed by another film with an international cast, BLACK BITS (2022), a sci-fi thriller produced by Minerva Pictures, Play Entertainment and Agresywna Band (Poland) and is currently in post-production. The director\'s fifth film was IL VIAGGIO LEGGENDARIO (2023), an ambitious fantasy produced by Raffaella and Andrea Leone for Lotus Production and by Medusa Film, which was also its distributor with a March 23, 2023 theatrical release. The film stars the pair of YouTubers Dinsieme (Erick and Dominick) who boast millions of young fans, supported by an exceptional cast led by Herbert Ballerina, is based on the book of the same name and is set in the worlds of Camelot, Atlantis and the Diamond Kingdom.
