This internship has provided me with indispensable tools in outreach and communication for addressing the health and education needs of underrepresented communities.I soon sought ways to collaborate more closely with AAMC staff and further the program\'s mission of making healthcare careers more accessible to minority individuals. To accomplish this, I have: • Reviewed key trends in SHPEP application data for target demographics with SHPEP\'s Deputy Director, Harold Baker. • Strategized ways to enhance SHPEP\'s digital marketing and outreach strategy with SHPEP\'s Sr. Specialist in Communication and Outreach, Antonio Mancuso. • Addressed methods to optimize novel digital platforms to better reach our target audiences with the AAMC\'s Director of Community Engagement and Partnerships, Clarence Fluker.Accomplishments: • Modeled needs analyses of minority communities (Hispanic/Latino, Black/African American, American Indian/Alaskan Native) and the limitations they face in pursuing careers in healthcare. • Revised and provided feedback on the National Program Office\'s requested changes to the SHPEP Alumni Community to align with the professional needs of SHPEP alums. • Co-authored a \"For Parents\" page to be published on the SHPEP website.
