Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for Women\'s Services and Neonatal ICU at Wellstar Cobb Hospital.Practice site includes NICU (Level Labor & Delivery, Antepartum Special Care Unit, and Mother/Baby Unit (postpartum, newborn, and GYN populations).• Responsible for establishing new neonatal intensive care pharmacy services within our Level NICU. Provide new policies and protocols regarding drug management within the NICU and provide education to providers, pharmacists, and staff members regarding changes affected within the unit.• Monitor drug therapy and serve as the drug expert for the healthcare team and patients on the floor in a clinical capacity as well as in order entry by assessing appropriate drug information and literature resources to provide effective information and education to varied audiences including patients, other health care professionals, and peers.• Round daily with neonatal ICU care team, mother/baby care team, and antepartum care team• Respond to Code Blue and other emergent patient care situations; actively participate in resuscitative efforts (PALS, ACLS, BLS certified provider).• Responsible for the medication use process of preparing and dispensing medications following medication use policy and all laws, regulations, and standards applicable to pharmacy practice.• Educates, trains, and mentors PGY-1 pharmacy residents, APPE students, interns, colleagues, and other health care professionals.
