ABOUT ALESSIA RICCOBONO

Born in Agrigento, Italy, in 1986, after the Classical High School she matriculated in Architecture at the University of Palermo, where she completed the Master degree cum laude in 2010, presenting the thesis on Architectural Composition titled \"The Architecture of the Limit. Design of open spaces and services along the southern edge of the Chiaramonte’s Walls in Agrigento\". In 20••••08 she attended the ninth edition of the yearly itinerant architectural design seminar Villard, developing the project of student housing and services for the Faculty of Agriculture of Bologna. Both these projects were published. From 2011 to 2013 she was PhD Candidate at the University of Palermo in \"Recovery of Ancient Contexts and Innovative Processes in Architecture\", where in February 2014 she acquired the title of PhD presenting a dissertation titled \"Architectural Design in the Digital Era. Identifying computer influences and new expressive trends in current Architecture\". From 2011 to 2014 she was teaching assistant both in the Architectural Design Lab. 1 and 3 and in the Thesis Lab of the MSc Building Engineering-Architecture, in the Architectural Design Lab. 3 of MSc Architecture, hold by Prof. Giuseppe Pellitteri at the University of Palermo. She attended several workshop and conferences, presenting and publishing the results of her academic research. Since September 2012 until March 2013, she was Visiting PhD Candiate at Delft University of Technology, under the supervision of Prof. Alexander Koutamanis. In parallel to her academic activity, she is architect at RKW Architektur+ in Düsseldorf, Germany. As an architect she worked for ACMS Architekten GmbH in Germany, as well as freelance architect in Sicily for many years, both in Palermo and Agrigento, where she often collaborated with Pellitteri & Associates Studio and with Dario Riccobono Architect.
