ABOUT ALESSANDRO NUZZO

I\'ve always been fascinated by computers, ever since I started using the Spectrum ZX at age 8. Over the past 20 years, I\'ve turned that passion into a multifaceted career that spans software development, engineering leadership, product strategy, and organisational design.Today, I work as Engineering Director at a 1400+ person insurtech company, as part of the Technology, Architecture and Craft Software function with a focus on Developer Experience and reducing cognitive load across engineering teams. Previously, I spent two years as Chief of Staff to CTO, helping shape tech strategy, optimise team structures, and align engineering and product execution across three countries.My approach is simple: start with real problems from the people doing the work, validate with data, and ship solutions that actually move the needle. I care about removing friction, whether that\'s in CI/CD pipelines, tooling, organisational blockers, or the cognitive overhead that slows teams down.I\'ve contributed to my company\'s growth journey from startup to scale-up to enterprise maturity, leading change in how teams are structured, how we scale platforms, and how we empower product-engineering collaboration. I regularly use AI tools like ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot to prototype solutions, streamline workflows, and explore new possibilities for how we build software.I remain comfortable moving between technical details and C-level conversations, with a pragmatic mindset, strong delivery focus, and a constant drive to improve how teams work and how products are made. I make things happen.
