ABOUT ALESSANDRO ARU
Class 1989. I’m a young Illustrator and Graphic Designer. On my back i have 28 years of movies, food, design, sketches, music, photography and games. My brain goes “to infinity and beyond” and my heart “will go on“. Drawing, for me, is the beginning of everything. As a kid I wanted to be the best but there was always some other freak who was better. Now that I’m “Very well-rounded and practically perfect” I know it can’t be about being the best, it has to be about the time and the skills and what you do with them. I live in two worlds. The first, the real world, amaze me every day. I try to look it from different perspectives and live it with irony and music. It’s populated with characters made of flash and bones who are my ultimate inspiration: they’ve made me eager to learn and they taught me an important lesson: “You are not arrived … Yet“! It’s a rewarding world but my second one is by far superior. Is the one I end in every time I have a pen or a mouse in my hand. It’s made up of stories populated with unique characters and objects. “My attitude towards drawing is not necessarily about drawing. It’s about making the best kind of image I can make, it’s about talking as clearly as I can” (Cit. Jim Dine).
