   Grip Generational Relief In Prosthetics

   During my first semester, I was a member of Generational Relief in Prosthetics (GRiP) where I worked in a team of 6 to design a prosthetic hand to improve a young girl\'s ability to balance on a bike. I played a key role in brainstorming ideas, independently designed 5 prosthetic arm models in SolidWorks, an discussed designs with engineers from Medtronic to receive feedback. For my second semester, I was the co-captain of another team in GRiP where I led a team of 6 to design a device in SolidWorks to help a young amputee hold a drumstick and a guitar pick. I taught my team how to use SolidWorks, delegated tasks, and organized meetings to foster my team\'s personal growth and ensure the prosthetic’s completion before Hand Camp. I also 3D printed and tested multiple prototypes using an Ender 3 printer. This school year, I am GRiP\'s Design Manager. As the Design Manager, I am responsible for improving the quality of captains by teaching advanced SolidWorks tools, giving guidance for leading team members, and informing captains on resources available to them in GRiP. I conduct checkups with captains to ensure each GRiP team is adequately progressing through their project. A also update GRiP’s thingiverse account to improve teams’ access to past models and design demos of common GRiP projects for kids to try out at Hand Camp.Within GRiP, I have also attended numerous professional and technical workshops, and learned how to solder toys for hospitalized children as part of the \"Adaptathon\" event.
