Census Open Innovation Labs (COIL) trailblazes open government and access to data through cross-sector collaboration, user-centered design, and technology.• Manage and lead the digital team, backlogs, and sprint execution using Agile principles and values, with a mix of Scrum and Kanban; resulting in clear priorities, structured sprint timelines, meeting deadlines on time, and positive communication with COIL leadership. Provide guidance and set strategy for designers and web developer new to government.• Product management for all COIL digital products including 3 websites and the award-winning TOPx Toolkit, a robust step-by-step guide for government agencies to implement The Opportunity Project method on their timeline.• Crafted roles, wrote job descriptions, interviewed, recommended hire, and onboarded for 3 roles on the digital team including a front-end web developer, a UX designer, and a graphic & interaction designer.• Lead brand strategy and design on high-visibility programs including an annual innovation event which reaches an annual audience of over StatVentures, an award-winning, breakout VC-like initiative representing the Department of Commerce; and The Opportunity Project, which engages technologists, government, and communities to prototype digital products.• Lead digital strategy on two government websites (opportunity.census.gov and coil.census.gov) to meet industry best practices, accommodate new content, build and track our audiences, and improve for modularity and sustainability.• Design external-facing assets on behalf of innovative and ground-breaking government programs including slide decks for large audiences and social media assets shared across all U.S. Census Bureau platforms.
