ABOUT ALESSANDRA ALLIE ANZALONE
As a former Event Coordinator at the Naval Submarine League, I managed and executed key events that contributed to the success of the organization, including the Submarine Technology Symposium, Annual Symposium & Industry Update, and specialized seminars on Seabed Warfare & Technology and Corporate Member Days. I oversaw event logistics, from registration and vendor coordination to on-site management, ensuring every detail was executed seamlessly. My experience in event planning and data management, particularly with Blackbaud eTapestry, allows me to streamline processes and ensure an efficient flow of operations.Prior to this, I worked as an Event Coordinator at Jeffery A. Miller Catering, where I planned and executed memorable events for a diverse range of clients. This hands-on role honed my organizational, time-management, and customer service skills, providing valuable experience in coordinating large-scale events with multiple moving parts. In spring 2023, I completed a full-time internship with the Washington International Trade Association (WITA) in Washington, D.C, where I assisted with event coordination, social media outreach, and website management for the largest non-profit trade organization in the capital. This internship, part of the JMU Washington Semester Program, enhanced my skills in research, writing, and digital communications, and deepened my passion for international trade.I also contributed to the Africa Medical Relief Project, a JMU-led initiative that delivers medical supplies to hospitals in Africa, serving as a student assistant for Dr. William Ritchie, a management professor at JMU\'s College of Business. This experience strengthened my understanding of global supply chains and humanitarian efforts. In summer 2022, I furthered my intercultural competence and language skills through a six-week internship in Valencia, Spain, combined with weekly Spanish classes. This immersive experience allowed me to work across cultures and communicate effectively in Spanish, enriching my global perspective.I graduated from James Madison University in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and a minor in Economics, combining my passion for global issues and analytical thinking. I am eager to continue cultivating new skills and experiences that will support my career aspirations in international trade, event management, and global relations. I am excited to collaborate with others who share my vision for a more connected and prosperous world.
