About Aleksandra Gurneau-Jacobs

Strengths: Analytical, Deliberative, Context, Futuristic, learner My whole life I have always wanted to help people. My first job I was a lifeguard. It really doesn\'t get much more literal than saving people from drowning. I like to help people because it makes me happy to know somebody has benefited from my help. I strive to help people through my love of design. My discovery of my love of Graphic Design began in my junior year in high school. My first exposure to the world of graphic design was when I taught myself photoshop and illustrator in order to create a brand. The brand was for a FIRST Robotics team. This brand would be the first design project I would undertake that would help students get out of the classroom and learn in a practical real life setting. My love for German language and culture became aware to me at a much younger age. I have learned how to, not only speak a different language, but I have also learned how to think in different ways. Through German I have the ability to creatively problem solve in order to help people more. Communication crossing languages leaves many opportunities for communication breakdowns. Through my exploration of German it has made me into an effective communicator. Through both of my career interests I have both of the skills to, not only tell a story, but in a way others may not through my creative problem solving and effective communication skills.
