ABOUT ALEKSANDAR MARJANOVIC

I lead Data Engineering across data platform, analytics engineering, and data governance. My job is simple: make it easy for people to find data, trust it, access it safely, and actually use it.Over the years, I’ve built and evolved our data platform into the foundation for analytics, operational reporting, governance, and now AI initiatives. Much of this started as undefined problems rather than formal mandates, which required shaping the direction as much as building the solution. I also created a Data Portal, an internal product that became the primary interface for working with data across the company. The portal brings together discovery, observability, self-service workflows, governance controls, secure access to sensitive data, and AI-driven interaction. It also makes reliability and usage visible, so data quality is not assumed but measured. Today, it’s one of the most adopted and trusted internal products.I treat platforms as products. That means taking end-to-end ownership, from problem discovery to adoption, especially in areas where direction isn’t predefined. I care about usability and adoption as much as architecture. I stay close to execution and take responsibility for outcomes, not just direction. My work sits between engineering, product, and sometimes design, where building the right thing matters as much as building it well.I built the company’s data governance practice from scratch and embedded it directly into the platform, so the safe path is also the easy path.Outside of work, I’ve spoken at AWS conferences about building and scaling internal data platforms.
