ABOUT ALEJANDRO TRUJILLO

I am currently a Manager in the Vehicle Design and Innovation Department at The Aerospace Corporation. My work focuses broadly on concept design and architecture modeling for space systems and the underlying infrastructures and processes that facilitate development, deployment, operation, and maintenance throughout their lifecycle. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech and subsequently a Master’s Degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics and a PhD in Space Systems from the Engineering Systems Lab (ESL) at MIT, working with Prof. Oli de Weck. My PhD research focused on the implications of the emerging paradigm of Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) on the reuse of proven, legacy design solutions. During my years in school, I cultivated my deep passion for space exploration with internships at NASA, SpaceX, Draper, and Aerospace. My guiding vision is to apply this breadth of experience to the support the next generation of space missions, particularly human exploration of our Solar System and beyond.
