ABOUT ALEJANDRO CASA VALENCIA

I am a Senior Transportation System Modeler at C&M Associates, expanding my scope beyond Florida to support advanced modeling efforts across the Washington D.C. area, Georgia, North Carolina, and other regions. My current role builds on over a decade of experience developing, scripting, calibrating, validating, and applying sophisticated models for investment-grade traffic and revenue (T&R) studies, project development and environment (PD & E) studies, and hurricane evacuation analysis.Previously, I worked as an on-site consultant with AECOM at Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (FTE), where I specialized in statewide and regional models such as the Turnpike State Model (TSM), CFRPM, SERPM, NERPM, ELToD, TBRPM, TCRPM, and TIME. I successfully enhanced these models with time-of-day toll choice components and other customized features essential for high-stakes forecasting.Notably, I led the conversion of the TSM NextGen model from Cube to PTV Visum, integrating Python and R scripts to increase flexibility and analytical power. My work also leverages big data platforms like StreetLight and Streetlytics to inform model calibration and support traffic analysis.I regularly prepare technical reports, deliver client presentations, and conduct training sessions for both technical and non-technical audiences. In addition to my modeling expertise, I am proficient in R and Python programming, and I have deep experience with Cube Voyager, Cube Avenue, and PTV Visum. I also develop and manage collaborative project tracking systems using Smartsheet.Earlier in my career, I supported planners, modelers, and transportation engineers across multiple countries by providing technical assistance for Cube modeling software—helping teams bridge the gap between powerful tools and meaningful outcomes.
