About Alejandra Perry

Alejandra Perry began building education programs after witnessing and experiencing how language barriers and limited resources restricted access to opportunity for multilingual and immigrant communities in Miami.At 14, she founded Literary Speaking, Inc, a student-founded nonprofit expanding language access, academic tutoring, STEM mentorship, and college readiness for ESOL, first-generation, and low-income students. Since launching in January 2024, Literary Speaking has served 220+ students, trained 100+ volunteers, and partnered with public middle and high schools to deliver in-school and online instruction across South Florida.In parallel, Perry is an award-winning neuroscience researcher. Having conducted independent research since she was 12, she is a Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2026 Finalist, Best-in-Fair and 1st Place SFSEF winner, and a 2026 Research Science Institute Scholar at MIT. Her research focuses on neurodegenerative disease models, combining experimental biology and computational analysis. Perry is also a 2026 Bezos Scholars National Semi-Finalist, with her education work receiving national recognition across youth leadership and education platforms. In 2023, she was also recognized by the Miami-Dade School Board with a Proclamation for her academic and leadership initiatives. She builds systems centered on execution, mentorship, and scalable access to opportunity. She will graduate from Miami Coral Park Senior High School in 2027 while earning an Associate of Arts degree from Miami Dade College, preparing for advanced study in neuroscience, research, education, and systems-driven social impact.
