Placement 1: Croydon Health and Wellbeing SpaceConducted independent and joint psychological assessments with adults presenting with diverse mental health difficulties. Delivered individual interventions using CBT, ACT, and CFT with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, psychosis, and bipolar disorder. Co-facilitated DBT-informed and ACT-based group interventions. Designed and delivered a teaching session for colleagues on understanding personality disorders. Led a service-related project, Who Presents with “Trauma”, investigating access to psychological services in Croydon.Placement 2: Lambeth Child and Adolescent Mental Health ServiceConducted comprehensive psychological assessments with young people and families presenting with complex mental health, neurodevelopmental, and safeguarding needs. Formulated difficulties using CBT and systemic approaches, and delivered individual interventions for anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and emotional dysregulation, with cultural adaptations. Facilitated a CBT-informed ADHD group (ages 12–15) and provided parent psychoeducation on mental health and neurodiversity. Collaborated within multidisciplinary and safeguarding teams, contributing to diagnostic assessments, case formulations, and care planning. Administered cognitive and adaptive assessments (WISC, ABAS). Contributed to service evaluation by collecting and analysing outcome data to inform practice and service improvement.

ABOUT ALEENA SUMAN
I’m a recent MSc Applied Clinical Psychology graduate from University of Bath with enriching experiences working with vulnerable individuals across the lifespan. My educational and practical understandings have helped me analyse the gap in mental health services, namely in treatment access and trajectories. Therefore, utilising my reflective, interpersonal and research skills and psychological knowledge, I am driven to contribute to the provision of effective evidence-based psychological therapies for service users with varying needs and vulnerabilities.
