ABOUT ALEENA KEARSE
I\'m a Vermont native currently in my third year at the University of Connecticut, pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Animal Sciences with a focus on small animal veterinary medicine. I\'m passionate about animal health & welfare, which has led me to work on an independent research study involving gene expression & gestational effects of poor maternal nutrition in ewes, an exciting opportunity to explore the laboratory aspects of veterinary care. My long-term goal is to attend veterinary school & earn my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, ultimately aspiring to open my own practice or rehabilitation center. In my free time, I love spending time outdoors. Whether I\'m hiking, camping, or river hopping, I find joy in nature & the adventures it brings. I\'m eager to combine my academic knowledge & hands-on experience to make a positive impact in the field of veterinary medicine.
