ABOUT ALECIA HART
Alecia is an entrepreneur, writer, and community builder, focused on serving small businesses in Utah. Throughout her career, she has founded a digital art business; secured $69 million for the state of Utah to provide accessible, low-interest loans for small businesses; and directed BYU’s biggest business pitch competition series, which deployed over to student entrepreneurs. Alecia studies religious communities, and is writing a book called the Problem of Togetherness. The book explores how new technologies have changed our view of organizations, power, and the public – and what this deep-rooted paradigm shift means for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Alecia is a passionate advocate for special needs and produced a Down Syndrome awareness music video with her little brother, Trey, in partnership with the Utah Down Syndrome Foundation.#downtobe Alecia’s projects have been featured by ABC4, KSL, Fox13 News, and Utah Business magazine. Alecia strives to say yes to most opportunities, and has amassed a diverse collection of experiences. — She once put an astronaut suit on Governor Herbert — She toured to China to train with the Peking Opera — She lived in the Philippines for 18 months and speaks Cebuano — She has planned events in Costa Rica, China, and throughout the U.S. Currently, Alecia lives in Midvale with her husband, Merlin, and dog, Hugo, where they love exploring the beautiful Utah outdoors.
