Ice and snow surfaces are continuously awash with radio signals broadcast from GNSS as the Global Positioning System (GPS), which can be used as a form of bistatic radar. The GNSS-R receiver system was used in fieldwork in the 2023-24 Antarctic field season to capture the signal after it interacted with the ice shelf surface. I will work with a team to process the GNSS interferometric reflectometry data that were collected from the same sites, using and modifying the open source tools provided by Co-l Dr. Kristine Larson, to analyze the signal-to-noise ratio from the standard geodetic antenna approach. These will then be compared with the GNSS-R data of the experimental system.
