ABOUT ALEC THOMAS
I am an engineer, a scientist, and a problem-solver obsessed with building the tools that accelerate drug discovery. My passion is taking a technology from 0 to 1 and turning a complex scientific concept into a robust, meaningful product.For the last five years at Apoha, I\'ve been one of the main developers of our novel sensing technology. As Director of Applications, I lead our largest team —a fantastic group of interdisciplinary engineers and biophysicists. Together, we\'ve built our platform from scratch, managing both in-house development and client-facing engagements across the pharmaceutical and consumer goods sectors. My job is to listen to our customers, translate their needs into a technical roadmap, and guide my team to execute it.My technical expertise is rooted in biomedical engineering, specifically in the mechanics and application of biological thin films, microbubbles, and nanodroplets. With a Ph.D. from CU Boulder and postdoctoral research at Oxford, I have deep, hands-on experience in surface chemistry, protein assays, and developing custom software for data acquisition and analysis. I\'m always open to discussing new ideas in therapeutic discovery, sensor technology, and R&D leadership.
