ABOUT ALDO VARGAS
Aldo Vargas is a Roboticist. He graduated as a Mechatronics Engineer from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and holds a PhD in Robotics from the University of Glasgow. He finished a postdoc at the University of Oxford where he designed and built an unmanned aerial system in order to track pollinators using machine learning and computer vision techniques.He conceptualizes, designs, builds, programs, and experiments with robots of every kind. Either mobile, static, terrestrial, marine or aerial. He loves to develop GNC (Guidance, navigation and control) algorithms for robotic systems.He also has extended experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, control systems, embedded systems and systems integration. His PhD is concerned with reducing the oscillations at the end of the transportation of a payload being carried under-slug of a multi-rotor. Aldo has published several technical papers in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings on the topics of multi-rotors, system identification techniques, machine learning and control of unmanned aerial vehicles. He has participated in numerous robotics and aerospace projects and competitions during his studies. He is a very skilled and capable multi-rotor pilot, recently successfully achieving the SAA multi-rotor competency test in the United Kingdom.Aldo is the founder of AltaX Consulting, which is a firm dedicated to sharing their expertise and knowledge to help unmanned systems businesses attain their goals and solve problems. In a more general sense, AltaX is a team with vast knowledge and experience in the unmanned systems industry.
