ABOUT ALCELY BARROSO

I am a professional living in Toronto, CEO at PRAXXI, partner and Strategy lead at Brainwork, VP of Ethics and Social Responsibility at The Chartered Institute of Market Management of Ontario, and recently decided to start an entrepreneurship journey at PRAXXI.I am passionate about working with business strategy, technology, leadership development, and corporate social responsibility. I have over 20 years of experience, having worked at Microsoft and IBM across various teams, such as IBM Global University Programs leader for Latin America, where I played a pivotal role in advancing academic relations strategy. I orchestrated IBM training programs on emerging technologies, contributing significantly to the region\'s education progression. I also served as the chief of staff for the general manager of IBM Brazil and the corporate citizenship executive at IBM Brazil. At that time, I forged relationships with nonprofits, managed the IBM Volunteering program, and handled the CSR investments. At Microsoft, I served as Community Affairs Manager, leading digital literacy programs in partnership with the Ministry of Labor. I am also active in contributing to community development as a member of the Board of Directors at Parceiros Voluntarios. Previously I served as co-chair of the Board of Directors at Instituto Ser+, Business Development Director at the Federation of Canadian Brazilian Businesses, and leading the Future of Work Committee for the Brazilian Association of Software Companies.My entrepreneurial mindset drives me wherever I work, enabling me to create new solutions and innovative projects inside companies. Over the last 15 years, I have worked with senior leadership of large companies to enhance their strategies and create outcomes that positively impact communities. I am motivated by challenges and making meaningful contributions to society. I am passionate about technologies that drive innovation to solve problems and business development in a collaborative way to impact society. My educational journey is a testament to my commitment to continuous learning and my diverse range of expertise. I hold a PhD and a Master\'s degree in Science from the University of São Paulo, an MBA in Social Entrepreneurship from FIA, and a postdoctoral in the Department of Intelligence Technologies and Digital Design at PUC-SP. This academic foundation, coupled with my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Sao Paulo, equips me with a unique perspective and a broad understanding of various fields.
