ABOUT ALBINA VELTMAN
My clinical work as a psychiatrist focuses on traditionally marginalized populations, including people who have severe and persistent mental health issues, people with intellectual disabilities, and people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer (LGBTQ).From July 2013 to December 2016, I was the Inaugural Diversity and Engagement Chair of the Undergraduate MD Program at McMaster University. In this role, I worked towards ensuring that diversity-related content was included throughout the medical school curriculum and that diversity-related issues were taken into account in terms of admissions and medical student experiences.
