I am Cost Engineer in charge of chassis and power train. Responsible to create, analyze and validate component material cost and targets. Also responsible for ground up material cost estimates prior to start production. The main process knowledge is in stamping, injection molding, casting, and welding. Lead Cost Estimator for, Exhaust System, Stabilizer Bar, Knuckles, Links, Control Arms and Bushings into the Suspension Group developing estimates to collaborate and set targets with Engineering and Finances for Piece Cost and Tooling.Support sourcing decisions with Purchasing, creating solid cost walks and side by side explanations by components based on engineering changes using CAD Data information and GM specs.Assisted in identifying and negotiate with suppliers cost reductions on current and forward model programs to support achievement of cost savings.Implemented a saving and avoidance process, that reported to the upper management, through monthly monitoring.
