ABOUT ALBERTO ROBADOR
I am a research professor at USC and technical co-founder at Carbon13, where I bridge deep scientific discovery with real-world climate solutions. At USC, I lead the Energy Ecology Lab, where we explore how the flow of energy and matter shapes ecosystems, from biogeochemistry to global carbon cycling. I view energy flow as the fundamental organizing principle of life, a key to predicting and managing environmental change. Now, building on this foundation, I am co-founding a venture focused on scalable, robust solutions for blue carbon ecosystems. My goal is to develop technologies that unlock trust, investment, and climate impact through better ecological understanding.I believe that by combining systems thinking with entrepreneurial action, we can create networks — biological, technological, and social — that actually work to solve the climate crisis.
