Responsible for driving business operations and implementing commercial, marketing and PR strategies across the Variety portfolio outside of North America. • Built and led a successful, record-breaking sales team that generated more than £40m in international advertising and sponsorship revenue, the highest in Variety’s history.• Developed an aggressive editorial slate with journalists and reporters that generated £2m in advertising revenue annually.• Curated an internationally recognised awards business by programming tent-pole special issues.• Managed the publication of print and digital daily magazines across all the major film and television festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, Busan and Dubai.• Negotiated media partnerships with every major international film and television festival as well as many recognised and influential industry bodies such as the Venice Film Festival, Arab Cinema Council, European Film Promotion, Advertising Europe Summit and the Hong Kong Filmart.• From inception to publication negotiated two license deals and the creation of two local language franchise magazines – Variety Russia and Variety Arabia - that have generated £2m in advertising revenue.• Devised a digital strategy that generated new e-products and increased advertising and sponsorship revenue by 500% within a year.• Effectively managed a global sales effort with team members in offices from multiple territories and time zones.• Hosted industry networking receptions across Europe, Asia and the Middle East including Venice, Beijing and Abu Dhabi.• Interviewed at length on industry developments by a number of international television and radio channels.• Collaborated with all main international publicists and PR companies.
