About Albert Nguyen
You don’t need to do everything. But you must not do nothing.\"~ AlbertMy path from a decade of agency-based mental health and social work to founding Optimind Counseling has been a deeply personal and transformative journey. It’s more than a shift in career. It’s a lifelong commitment to making mental health care more human, culturally aware, and lasting.I’m a licensed mental health therapist & mission-driven entrepreneur working at the intersection of trauma, culture, and community healing. Mental health isn’t a quick fix. It’s a daily practice, a lifestyle grounded in reflection, responsibility, and care. I empower and encourage people to do the WORK.My team and I offer trauma-informed, integrative therapy that supports the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. My approach blends evidence-based practices, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and creative tools. I’ve worked across foster care, education, healthcare, and corporate systems, and every story continues to shape the way I show up.What’s become central to my work is the role of cultural humility and how it begins with understanding my own positionality. Living and working across countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Peru, Japan, and Guatemala has deepened my empathy and challenged me to constantly examine how my identity, privilege, and perspective show up in the work. Travel isn’t just personal growth for me - it’s a professional responsibility. It has helped me build cultural competency from the inside out, listening before I lead, and learning from the communities I serve and surround myself with.Through digital media and my YouTube channel, I aim to make mental health more accessible, honest, and culturally grounded. I create content that breaks down complex psychological concepts, challenges superficial wellness trends, and brings people back to what matters: connection, purpose, and self-awareness.I’ve also spent over two decades training and teaching martial arts, which continues to inform my understanding of discipline, healing, and embodied wisdom. That, alongside my travels, has shaped a worldview rooted in respect for people, their stories, and the cultures that hold them.I believe we are only as strong as the responsibility we choose to carry. My work is about building systems, stories, and spaces that help people reconnect with their purpose and serve without ego.Countries I’ve explored: Vietnam, Guatemala, Peru, Taiwan, Cambodia, Mexico, Japan, Thailand, ChinaIf you’re building something that centers healing, ethics, or global impact—I’d love to connect.
