ABOUT ALBERT ACHOR

I graduated in the top 1% of my electrical engineering class at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. During my days in the university, I demonstrated an ability to learn new concepts quickly, an attribute I still possess. After graduating with a First Class, a career in academia seemed apparent to me at the time. However, my passion was to make an impact in the energy industry. Consequently, I accepted a job in the oil and gas sector instead. In my role as an Instrument and Controls Engineer, I have worked on several major projects for most of the leading IOCs in Nigeria like Chevron Nigeria Limited and Total E&P Nigeria Limited. For example, I played a principal role on the Tank 1 Repair and Upgrade Project for Chevron Nigeria Limited during the DED, construction, and As-Built documentation stages. My love for challenges and passion for learning galvanized me to enroll for an MSc in Artificial Intelligence. This move is congruent with the trend of data now being identified as a more valuable resource than oil and gas. My goal is to build a bridge between my knowledge of engineering and AI that would be instrumental in providing solutions to otherwise intractable real world problems.
