Founded in 1972, the HNBA is the sole national organization representing the interests of Hispanic attorneys, law students, and thousands of legal professionals in the U.S. and its territories. As the principal administrative officer, and working with two volunteer boards, I advanced the mission and strategy while ensuring short and long-term sustainability; effectively cultivated internal and external relationships; and delivered growth and value to stakeholders while advocating for the advancement and interests of the legal community and the larger community of 65 million Hispanic people living in the United States. Prior to the HNBA, as the second in command of the largest (by territory) General Consulate of the Dominican Republic in the Western Region of the United States (13-state jurisdiction), I created, developed, and managed strategic end-to-end projects, events, funding campaigns, and key alliances related to investments and trade, community affairs and advocacy, education, media and entertainment, government affairs, and emergency relief. I also created and drove communication strategies, cultivating key relationships with private and public entities in the U.S, India, and Latin America, and with media executives and influencers (film, television, print and electronic, & social media). To advance national interests, I authored speeches, press releases, white papers, reports, proposals, and brochures, and delivered public/executive speeches and presentations, while supervising a team of talented and action-oriented staff and volunteers, advancing economic, social, cultural, and educational objectives.
