About Alay Patel

A professional with a keen interest in systems and distributed programming. He has worked in programming networked systems, studied distributed systems like Kubernetes and etcd. He is fluent in Golang, Python, Java and C. Interested in taking up complex problems and design, implement and iterate over solutions.Currently works with helping customers migrate to latest version of OpenShift and upstream Kubernetes at night. He has been instrumental in driving the CronJob API to General Availability by solving performance and scaling problems of the CronJob controller.

   Delivering scalable, high-performance enhancements to NVIDIA’s GPU Cloud Computing Platform using CNCF open-source technologies (Kubernetes, KubeVirt)- Defined and implemented performance SLOs/SLAs for a platform managing thousands of GPU nodes- Built expertise in scaling the control plane by monitoring performance (using Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos), diagnosing issues when running GPU cluster at scale, and implementing fixes- Led platform scaling efforts to achieve 2–3× capacity increase while maintaining performance targets- Enhanced the platform with Dynamic Resource Allocation (DRA) capabilities- Performed performance and scalability analysis for helping deliver DRA’s general availability- Spearheading a cross-community initiative to integrate DRA device support into KubeVirt- Leading the effort to add DRA support to Kueue.
