ABOUT ALAYNA FAROOQUEE
I am a Pre-Med student at Irvine Valley College, where I currently maintain a 4.0 GPA after completing high school two years early. I am preparing to transfer to a four-year university, take the MCAT, and pursue medical school with the goal of becoming a licensed pediatrician. My academic journey is driven by both intellectual curiosity and a strong commitment to service. In high school, I earned five debate certifications through Model United Nations, where I developed advanced public speaking, research, and policy analysis skills. I also served as an IMPACT Leader, mentoring incoming freshmen and helping guide them through their first year; an experience that strengthened my leadership and communication abilities.Beyond academics, I am deeply involved in community engagement. As a selected member of the Orange County Teen Council for Transportation (2024–2025), I collaborated with local leaders to provide youth perspectives and propose improvements to public bus services across Orange County. I am passionate about civic involvement and contributing meaningful ideas to improve systems that affect everyday lives. At Irvine Valley College, I earned four Library Honors badges recognizing academic integrity and citizenship through completion of institutional academic enrichment coursework. In addition, I have contributed to the growth of my family’s business, Inland Leather, by managing customer service operations and coordinating shipping logistics; gaining hands-on experience in professionalism, responsibility, and client relations. In addition to my academic and leadership experiences, I have trained in professional modeling through John Casablancas and participated in community service–based modeling initiatives. Through this experience, I developed confidence in public presentation, poise under pressure, and an understanding of personal branding and professionalism. Modeling strengthened my ability to communicate presence and composure — skills that translate directly into leadership, public speaking, and patient interaction.Outside of my professional and academic pursuits, I enjoy cooking, baking, art (occasionally), watching movies (particularly Rom-Coms), traveling, and spending time with my loved ones. I have three siblings and lots of baby cousins, so I definitely work well with children. I am motivated by service, lifelong learning, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact; particularly in pediatric medicine.
