Outstanding financial acumen underpinned by excellent financial qualifications and highly regarded, proven influencing and team development skills gained over 17 years in Corporate Banking and 9 years in the Not for Profit sector. Gaining his CA qualification with Bank of Scotland (now lapsed), spent 7 years structuring & delivering debt in support of Private Equity buy-outs before being selected to join the Divisional CEO\'s Internal Consultancy team, delivered analysis and recommendations to the Board on full spectrum of Corp Banking issues and developed and led the introduction of the first Divisional Strategic Planning process. Became a Bank-sponsored volunteer Treasurer and Board Member for a mental health charity.Following Lloyds\' take over, carved a career within Risk and Integration and Portfolio Management and was selected for the inaugural Emerging Leadership Talent Management programme. Restructuring in Lloyds resulted in senior roles being migrated to London, and Alastair chose to seek voluntary redundancy to enable him to explore new opportunities. Alastair was Finance Director at Inspiring Scotland, where he reshaped the role to be part of the Senior Management Team, rebuilding the management accounting and budgeting processes to enhance reporting and therefore decision making, streamlined the accounting processes and has developed stronger and closer links with the individual funds to embed real business partnering. Expanded the role by also being Head of the individual charitable funds for 18 months and was responsible executive for the launch of Inspiring Scotland\'s consultancy product.Alastair Joined Heriot\'s in March 2019 as Bursar following a short period as the FD of the Edinburgh International Festival.
