Alasdair is an Investment Specialist for Baillie Gifford’s Durable Growth strategy. He joined the firm in 2008 as a Graduate Trainee, beginning his career with a focus on the UK market and Baillie Gifford’s longest-standing pooled vehicle, the Managed Fund.In 2015, Alasdair became a founding member of the Sustainable Growth team, helping to shape the firm’s approach to investing in companies that combine enduring growth and enduring good. He later joined the Durable Growth strategy, where he now leads on commercial strategy as Chair of the Product Group.A graduate of the University of Dundee in 2006, Alasdair qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant and brings a strong analytical foundation to his investment work.Outside of work, he’s a keen golfer and volunteers with several charities, including Future Asset and The Robertson Trust—though most of his spare time is joyfully spent with his two young sons.
